Dubai Vet Bootcamp – November 2017

Royal Canin recently sponsored a Business Bootcamp for customers in the Middle East, which was delivered by Alan Robinson from Vet Dynamics in the UK. Alan is the company director and has presented at several international veterinary events in recent years, including both the London and New York Vet Shows.

19 veterinarians and practice managers from 11 different clinics in the region attended to learn more about challenges facing the profession, pathways to practice growth and establishing leadership and culture amongst practice staff.

Whilst the issues facing veterinary practice owners globally are similar, there are some unique challenges presented by doing business in the Middle East including staff recruitment and retention, maintaining a solid customer base in a highly transient population and remaining profitable in a very competitive market.  Practical sessions focused on developing a SWOT analysis for each practice and implementing strategies to achieve growth in the future, despite these region-specific challenges.

Sebastien Gruere (SVG Sales & Marketing Director) and Victor Lapointe (Royal Canin Brand Manager) from Saint Vincent Group presented on the opportunities for clinics to generate higher revenues and remain competitive in the current retail market.

This business development CPD event was the first of its kind for veterinary practice owners in the region, and was well received by participants who attended from the UAE, Bahrain and Oman.
